MEMBERSHIP & FORMS

AAOS has five different categories of membership. Every new applicant must complete the Membership Application form for the category of membership for which they wish to apply. There are 5 categories of membership:

Category Fee Early Bird Renewal fee:
1. Affiliate member $100 $80
2. Associate $200 $150
3. Supervisor $310 $250
4. Supervisor Trainer $310 $250
5. Recognised Supervisor Training Program $440  $440
  • New members pay full fees when first joining, 50% of full fees when joining after November 1.
  • Membership year is from April 1 – March 31
  • Members wishing to terminate membership must do so in writing (only), before October 31 of the year prior to the year of termination

Annual Membership Renewals

  • Annual renewals for the same category of membership are now all via an online renewal form – the link to which you will find in the Membership Renewal email we send you.

  • Existing members are eligible for a reduction in renewal fees (the Early Bird rate) if renewal and payment via EFT are received by close of business March 1.

 

Category 1: Affiliate Membership

This category of membership is for any person currently qualified in their field of work. It is for a professional person whpo works in a field allied to supervision e.g.coaching, training, facilitation, consultation. It is also open to any practitioner who is currently ‘inactive’ or is semi-retired or retired and who is interested in participating in the learning community of reflective practice in supervision. This category is also available for anyone interested in becoming a Supervisor but not currently enrolled in a training program. The applicant must provide evidence of the above and have professional indemnity insurance if practising in their field. Affiliate Member Application Form.pdf (new form coming soon)  

Category 2: Associate Membership

This is open to any person currently qualified in their field of work who has at least 5 years clinical experience. The applicant must have had at least 21 hours of professional supervision with a qualified supervisor over a three year period prior to applying for membership. Associate membership is also open to any person currently training to be a Supervisor or who has partially completed the requirements to be eligible for membership as a Supervisor. Recognition for prior learning (RPL) is available for applicants to this category of Membership. Details of the RPL requirements can be found in the Associate Membership application form. Category 3: Supervisor

This is open to any person currently qualified in their field of work who has at least 3 years experience as a Supervisor. The applicant must have completed a supervisory training program within the past 5 years. The training program criteria are detailed on the Supervisor Membership application form or the applicant may seek recognition for RPL. Category 4: Supervisor Trainer

This is open to any person currently qualified in their field of work who has at least 5 years clinical experience as an accredited supervisor. The Supervisor Trainer should be concurrently engaged in clinical supervision. The applicant must be a member of a professional body relevant to their qualification. The applicant must have completed a supervisor-trainer training program within the past 5 years. The training program criteria are detailed on the Supervisor Trainer Membership application form or the applicant may seek recognition for RPL. Category 5: Recognised Training Program

This category is for any Training Institute wishing to have its Supervisor Training program recognised by AAOS.
